missed/ing

am i missing on something? i've missed a lot..missing on movies, TV programmes, anime...but really it's interests. it has become a point that if it doesn't interest me i'm out, not that i want to but i don't want to waste my energy when i'm out - somehow it has also come to a point of "it's fine by me"

it's that i've come to a phase where i'm slowing down, being constantly disturbed by the urge to listen to the peaceful silence that keeps nagging at me

non-business-wise if i can't join 'em, just stay out, don't waste your energy and pretend that you're interested. Yes, i'm still fascinated by lotsa new things - my interests.

Kak is an example of how it's ok to be out so many common interests yet still able to get along well with people. i admire her and keep asking myself when can i be like her. And now...i'm proud to say..

i'm going to new places and soaking in my interests by myself on my own...i duno how to say it..i'm eager to embark on it - ah that's the best expression. No one comes with me, no one accompanies me, it's ok, cos interests differ. And i share when there's a chance. i wouldn't want to hang out with those who are engrossed in their own world - an advice from a senior - grow up, don't keep telling everyone just one interest, progress on telling them of your other interests. that way u'll diversify - and live.

having friends of different ages has shown me a lot although i'm still finding my footing but it isn't as shaky as it used to be, i'm a little more aware. it's just that i need more time as to how to react to things i cannot control and i don't need affirmation from everyone - after so many years of being betrayed and lied to i'd decided to just hear from those who really know me

and neither will i say anything more the same person again if i've no energy, i'm told in/directly "i don't want to hear it from you" or if the person is only interested in "hitting back", showing no respect to me being older

c'mon, will anyone around my age say this to you? very few..they just keep it to themselves. Some people would go "waaaa" as they see this person being so high-flyer or "being there" but within..is what i've just typed. Not just based on my own but also people tellling me and observing too

cosplay: makeup

one thing that's really lacking in most AFA09's cosplayers is theatrical makeup. Most cosplayers just do normal makeup but that's wrong. Because you're re-enacting a character you're dramatising a character. Drama = theater = exaggerated makeup.

TV shows which feature Chinese opera - or you would relate the recent broadcast of Cirque du Soleil - you'd realise that their makeup is so exaggerating.  The general reason is because of lighting.However there's another reason which few know of and especially those who do theaterical makeup would: portray the face and expression of the character. Even intricate makeup lines could make one smile without much effort.

Theaterical makeup requires finding out more on the internet or books, finding where to buy theaterical makeup, practice at home - practice gets you more familiar and slowly you'll pick up speed with familiarity - don't you wanna get out of the restroom quickly to breathe the fresher air outside and attract more attention? :)

so do your best, learn up on theaterical makeup to level up like the cosplayers in Japan!

AFA09 and..

read so much hype about it but totally disappointed - the highlight booths are so small, are they really highlights?! 30th Gundam Anniversary didn't feel like it either. Maybe it's the way it's handled - should have a seperate area - a mini-museum of sorts with chronological displays of the mobile suits, their descrptions, their pilot, some famous quotes of the pilots, or maybe a TV next to each Gundam showcase series of some scenes, or never seen before scenes!

although it's fantastic to bring K-On seiyuus, oh, there was one huge part that was not subbed, only a few who understood Japanese laughed whereas 99% who didn't understand didn't.

for seiyuus i'm still waiting for the big ones like Ishida Akira or the main cast of Saiyuki, Prince of Tennis or Gundam 00...that sorta..

i didn't go for the concert..long queue. Lack of one week's sleep, didn't want to overstrain myself. Dinner was great - although it burns a hole in me pocket since i'm not working it's worth the one-time cause the sushi is so FRESH!!! that i didn't need to add sauce to enhance their flavour!!! Thanks to LP who led us there X3

Maybe AFA could hold a full-length concert. i hope T.M. Revolution/Abingdon Boys School come along for a full-length concert. Maybe bring in musicals like Tenimyu, or even hold local auditions! Irony is the scripts are in English while the songs are sung in Japanese...that's gonna be tough.

i broke my own record - i didn't buy anything at AFA this year!!!! i took some pics though. Sorry about the low quality of my handphone camera. Hopefully one day i buy a camera of its own...

i will not post pics of LP's n K's cosplay unless they let me..i guess they enjoy themselves, finally cosplaying at AFA :) my turn to "manage" their and friends' belongings. mixed..

initially the thought of going AFA tomorrow scares/dreads me

because everything's about buybuybuy, if not cosplaycosplaycosplay

i dun have spending power nor can cosplay thus i get pressurised

but i found a thought to counter it - i forgot what it is..i think it's along the line of countering the spending power. mmm...cosplay is expensive with the exception of Ritsuka - just a black wig and black cat ears are the expensive ones - generic but at least it's the cheapest...perhaps i do Ritsuka as a start. Fuji too expensive XD but really i wish i have a boyfriend so we can do Ritsuka/Soubi or fanservice Tezuka/Fuji X3 kyaaaa!!! XD

i'll just have to get over this fear of being overwhelmed by cosplayers XD perhaps it's also excitement, pretty mixed..but yes, tomorrow it's still yudan sezu ni ikou - i'm curious to see Gintoki and Zura X3

it's out! Trinity Blood novel!!!

i had a feeling to search on Kinokuniya's data of books while preparing for my exams (can go insane sia) then i found out - Gundam 00's side story Gundam 00f lst volume is out! then i just casually googled to find any new Trinity Blood release - and YES! ONE OF THE NOVELS IS OUT!!! Immediately i emailed to Kinokuniya and asked if they are bringing it in and if yes, when.

Oh wow...just when i thought there's nothing more to look forward to..alrite! now i have the motivation to add oil XD

Before You Go (matured theme) revised!

initally the fic "Before You Go" was done to end a fic on Tezuka and Fuji betraying each other. It was only today that i read my past fics n clicked on the final chapter of "more" that i realised i had previously ended the whole thing! So i had to edit the former to link the latter, thus making it the final ending to the already-ended-latter :"3

it's disheartening to see few comments on my fics but i think that's because they do not get much pubilicity as fanfic.net but at the moment i have no time to rate nor catergorise it if i upload all my fic there. LP can advice me when we meet at AFA?

i'm still not sure if i want to go AFA on Sat too cos i'd be dead packed on my side. But *phew* there's Sunday X3
