just a few days more and that's it to 2009. inspired by Dai Gor i started reflecting a little of this year - not that i dun wan to but fear that the events will overwhelm me

it's been a year of ups and downs as usual

passing of my cousin
sprain both ankles
- thought i couldn't walk again
went for counselling
had my very downs facing myself during counselling
had my little ups than usual after counselling
my first dress up n help at a small cosplay event thanks to K n LP
my first visit to Cosfest
had two gruelling exams
went thru hell n fell ill in the process
got a temp job
met Paps n Shimp'-sama and re-live co-ordinating
had many first experiences (foie gras for example!)
second visit to AFA n first time help LP wif her costume n makeup X3
got to watch two good movies
went to Japan Creative Centre n enjoyed myself
after so many months met Puss - FAAAAAAT, well fed, so mellowed and beautiful - a stark contrast of how i first met him
Muru's overwhelming good newS that really make me look forward contiuing my life into the next year!!!
sang for Xmas-birthday - my first too!
did a good makeup X3 - makeup's FUN!
didn't send much Xmas greeting cos sick
my first edited PoT pairing picture
i still am sick

after the fairydust moments at counselling i'm left on my own to struggle n figure but without Paps, Shimp'-sama n - now my mum - i wouldn't have pulled through. but the most imporant thing is my move out of my shell which i'm always constantly challenged and forgot that it's not the word "challenged" but "encouraged"

again i want to thank u - more than words. For being part of my life. For being there during my ups and downs.

shiroi tenshi i still owe u $7.10 sorry..i'm still sick, when i'm well enuff let's meet up for dinner or coffee X3

backache

>> Monday, December 21, 2009

while some are soaking in the festive season i've to be aware of my backache which i had a 21-needle accupuncture followed by 1 more accupuncture needle with cupping and finally accupressure massage treatment - i think it's a relapse from a minor slipped disc i had years ago bcos it hurts where it was operated

i'm aware that this needs constant treatment

eeeek!

i took the day off from my studies to squish the curiousity within me about Japan Good Design Exhibition at Japan Creative Centre. i'm just a bumpkin who knows nought about the technical aspects of design and architecture - can only go "ooh" and "wow"

One must go through strict requirements to qualify as a nominee for G-mark Good Design Award, eg help save the earth and help the people. Their exhibit range from drawn architectural pictures of the "green" cargo ship to viewing the ordinary everyday use of a pen in its showcase

They even have a 1958 design! Awesome..

Did i forget to mention to try out Fujiflim's latest offering of a 3D camera which turns ANY 2D environment to 3D which will only be in Singapore around next June?! And Canon's latest camcorder?! And the hologram-electronic picture frame? Next year they'll be bringing in the printer that prints 3D photos!! COOL..

They have a e-library which features the centre's artistic director's awesome reclining sofa. And they have a small selection of anime, cultural programmes, J-pop videos to choose from and more books about Japanese designs and bookguides of - to a design bumpkin me lah - high-level design and photos of Japan. Yes, they celebrate Gundam's 30th anniversary with an excerpt of the first Gundam! really cool! i din get to watch it totally cos i had to go somewhere else but to watch that even for just some minutes as i my jaw dropped in Amuro-fan-awe XD

Japan Creative Centre is at 4 Nassim Road. Click here for exhitibition details!

worth the wait

>> Monday, December 14, 2009

i'd never expected a sequel since the Storm Riders in 1998. I was excited to see the trailer at Comicon. i couldn't wait to watch Storm Warriors..11 years later!!!!

i guess because of the 10 years' progression in computer technonology there are greater and more digital graphics and effects. There are more martial arts choreography and a closer relationship between Feng (Wind played by Ekin Cheng) and Yun (Cloud played by Aaron Kwok)

it's only yesterday - after 11 years later - that i realised Cloud is older than Wind (i feel an avalanche of railings from Feng Yun fans)

it would be nice if i have the Storm Riders and Storm Warriors DVD in their original language with English subtitles - just for the novelty of it

the fun part is i'm now anticipating their THIRD sequel...cos..it's not over yet ;)
