encounter with a writing tablet

after so long i'd realised i'd scratched the surface (literally) on the pad cos i couldn't draw as how the demo displayed

so i went to their website and read their manual

guess what

i must install the software THEN connect the device to the pc

strange, why the * that instruction isn't in the so-called user's manual that came along with the packaging?
